Benjamin Button is the only one who comes to mind.

Yeah, I never realized Jones snuffed it at 27 either, although it certainly makes chronological sense.

The threesome usually cited are Hendrix, Joplin and Morrison, maybe due to proximity. But I was surprised Brian Jones died at 27. Has there ever been an older-looking 27-year-old?

Wikipedia's article on Club 27 adds a lengthy list of lesser lights, into which she is a fine fargin' fit, furthering the phenomenon.

what's the 27 club?  other rockers who died at 27 as a guess?

    Jim Morrison
    Janis Joplin
    Jimi Hendrix
    Robert Johnson
    Kurt Cobain
    Brian Jones
    Pigpen McKernan

I'm not sure Amy Winehouse's body of work puts her in the same realm as the other people on that list, but it's a notable coincidence.

Before yesterday, I could say the same.  I checked out a couple of her other songs and was impressed by the way she sang and that she wrote her own stuff... that is, before she got too fucked up to work.

The only song of her I remember is unsusrisingly titled "rehab".

Amy Winehouse showed real talent.  I'm hardly surprised at this, but it is kind of sad that, as public as her problem was, it couldn't be fixed.

I know nothing about Amy Winehouse other than what I've read about her struggles with substance abuse, but Denis Leary once said one of the great mysteries of the universe is how interesting people seem to die too soon, while Bret Michaels can survive a game of hopscotch in a mine field.
