He was as classy off the court as he was on it. I grew up in Wellesley. Hondo lived in Weston, the town next door. Weston didn't (and still doesn't, as far as I know), have a supermarket, so it wasn't uncommon to see Hondo at Wellesley Fells Market with his wife. He never refused an autograph or a conversation.
Hondo was a true great from the NBA's Golden Age.
