JUPITER, Fla. -- Andrew Baur, a key member of the ownership group that purchased the Cardinals in 1996, died today at his Florida home, the club confirmed.
Baur, 66, served as the team's treasurer as well as a member of its board of directors. A childhood friend of Cardinals chairman Bill DeWitt Jr., Baur was born in St. Louis and attended St. Louis Country Day School before graduating from Washington & Lee University, then earning an M.B.A. at Georgia State University.
