    I don't think Yngwie's prowess with an axe is debatable. It's just that my brain feels like it's going to explode after about 30 seconds.

    Wow, after weeks of being moribund, the music thread suddenly springs to life, just as I was coming over to post this Yngwie video.

    So at the risk of stepping all over JV's recent posts, . . . speaking of Yngwie, one of my former students posted this to her facebook this morning.  Yngwie is looking a bit long in the tooth.  I dislike the cheesy programmed backing track.  And I've never been that big a fan of speed metal, at least since I was 17.   But of course Yngwie can really play.  And, of all the speed metal gods, Yngwie has some musical credentials to me, because he has done some pretty cool transcriptions of classical pieces . . . for speed metal.
