...Brendan Ryan arguing with the ump after making the last out of Phillip Humber's perfect game?
It was a close call, and maybe he didn't swing, but after the foul up with Gallaraga's perfect game, was there any question that the benefit of the doubt would go to the pitcher?
What a d-bag.

I thought the play was iffy but I only saw it once. The video clip wont load on my (out in the sticks) internet. Was the pitch called a strike or was it a swinging strike?

The home plate umpire ruled it a swing without asking the first base umpire to help. No doubt it was questionable, but after Joyce botched the call that cost Gallaraga his perfect game, a player shouldn't be surprised that the call would favor the pitcher. And to stand there arguing while the White Sox players are celebrating on the field makes you look foolish.

It kind of tricky for the home plate ump to asked for the first base umps help on that play. It a full count, last out of the ninth in a perfect game. I give him credit for taking charge. Watching it live I was suprised Humber threw such a poor pitch to Ryan in that situation. I would have thrown a meatball and seen what happend. If he would have lost the perfect game on a base on ball on the last batter it would have been a crime. The coverage went to the dogpile on the mound inseat of showing replays so I wasnt sure why it was a strike.

if ryan had run to first instead of stopping to argue, he might have been safe. i saw the replay on the check swing. the call was good. he barely went around, but he went.

tk, Rasmus lit up a bit, but cooled over the last 2 games.
Still respectable at .259 and 3 HRs. He's way better then Albert Pujol$$$$
