We're looking at this the wrong way. It wasn't another 1-run loss.

Right. And we were one out away from getting two quality starts in the same game!

The best part of the way this game is proceeding is that if you notice the 6 women sitting in the front row just left (from the pitcher's view) 3 of them are attorneys I work with. None of them can stand baseball, but they are entertaining a client who apparently enjoys it. I emailed one of them at the start of extras. They were ready to leave in the 6th, but the client wants to stay until it ends. Every inning they look more and more miserable, and it's cracking me up.
I would have looked the same way. Cardinals baseball has been hard to watch this year. Painfully so.

Considering what was left in the bullpen, it was a matter of time once Kelly started to get tired. I know no one plans for a 19-inning game, but I think the better alternative would have been to try to get an inning out of Browning and then use Salas as the last man standing, not vice-versa. Browning is defenseless against righties. At least Salas has a chance against lefties.
On kind of an interesting side note, what was the bullpen coach still doing in the bullpen in the top of the 19th? There were no more pitchers out there. Did he order a pizza and was waiting for it to be delivered?

Wandy?!? Apparently, Hurdle is all-in here.

Just when I'm ready to pack this season in, I get invited to watch next Tuesday's game in the comfort of a PNC suite. Looks like it'll be Westbrook's turn but I ain't complainin'. Better take Wednesday off in case they decide to "play two" again.
