None of the officials was willing to step in and break them up.

I don't remember that, but it must have been some fight.
My favorite Maurice Lucas memory has very little to do with Maurice Lucas. When Xavier McDaniel signed as a free agent with the Celtics a few years ago, the local sports radio station aired his introductory press conference live.
When someone asked X if he would bring a "Maurice Lucas-type of mentality" to the Celtics, McDaniel responded "Not really. I'm a nice guy. Luke was a mean m*therf*cker."
I read in the paper the following day about what a "7-second delay" is in the radio industry.
