End of Season Clearance Sale

. . . on sandwiches?!?

I'm not exaggerating.  It's in a convenience store, and I'd take a photo except it's part of a casino complex and I'm not sure if photography is even allowed.

I didn't know sandwiches were a seasonal item.
I can't top that, but the store where I buy pet supplies had a chinchilla in stock that was marked down. Twice. The original price was $159.99 and a couple of months later, he (or she, I don't know how to discern gender in chinchillas) was discounted to $99.99. The poor thing looked depressed.

And hey, if you want to have some real fun at a casino, take out your camera phone while you're on the floor and point it toward the ceiling. Those guys love it when you try to record their security system.

No kidding.  Who would want to eat a sandwich that was out of season?  "Here, this sandwich is on clearance."  How long do they keep those things around?!?

Re: End of Season Clearance Sale

Walmart always has a rack of bread, doughnuts and cakes near the back of the food section that has been market down.  Not sure how old that stuff is but we have bought it before.  As long as it doesnt have green stuff growing on it what is the difference.

I buy the day old bread from Walmart, too.  This was literally and "End of Season Clearance Sale".  I've never seen anything like it.

And you can get rid of the "green stuff" if you pop it into the microwave for 15 seconds. That was my stepmother's secret. I never ate anything after that from her kitchen unless it was in its original packaging, and even at that after a thorough visual inspection.
You can get away with day old bread. And despite what my wife thinks, you can get away with day old meat. But you can't get away with spoiled condiments. Bad mayo will confine you for hours.

Day old is just a phrase right.  That shit is like weeks old and I am fine with it.

Yeah, it's an expression.  But if your Walmart has a fresh bakery, like the one we have in Mt. Vernon (the Bham store is antiquated, and overrun by Canadians in any event), then the "fresh" baked goods mold in about 5 days in our climate.  So, my guess is that they're probably no more than 2-3 days old before they discount them.

Imagine on the other hand, a fucking sandwich--with meat and mayo and everything on it--that's supposed to be sold during "summer" and is now on clearance because it's fall . . . !?!
