Arizona State/Oregon

Things were really looking good for ASU. Caused an immediate turnover and scored on the first play from scrimmage, but I have to ask...

Is Will Sutton that damned monumental??? Holy crap... What followed his departure was 43 unanswered points, 329 rushing yards allowed, and a complete and utter blowout... All before the halftime whistle sounded.

Oregon played the scrubs in the second half, and Arizona State got some decency back into the scoreboard finishing it with a score of 43-21, which doesn't look too devastating.

Artie, I wish he hadn't gotten hurt. I do consider Oregon one of the best football teams in the nation, and for the first minute of the game, it looked like we were going to have our hands full. We have games against USC/Stanford/Oregon State looming, and I want Oregon's schedule to be as difficult as possible, because at the end of it all, we likely would get Alabama/Florida and SEC teams are greater then every other conference just due to the level of competition in that insane conference, have been for 6+ seasons now.

Anyway, good game Artie, I hope Sutton is back for you guys soon, he's obviously very important to your team.

Edit: I had originally said roughly 350 rushing yards, it was 329, I looked it up.

Re: Arizona State/Oregon

I spent most of the time watching baseball, so I didn't see Sutton get hurt, but one guy wouldn't have stopped Oregon.
ASU was really jazzed about this game, and I thought coming in they had a lot of things going in their favor. Oregon just whipped them like Mrs. Bobby Cox.

Re: Arizona State/Oregon

Yeah I (without arrogance) thought we could beat ASU, but I didn't expect it to be like that. I was actually hoping to see Oregon have to play it's starters for the entire game. I'm not sure they've went much past 40 minutes of football yet this season. Chip will take his foot off the gas and play the second, third, and fourth string. Usually where we actually give up points, unless the opponent forces a turnover 25 seconds into the game and gets the ball inside the 30 yard line.

I'd be interested to see how many touchdown drives Oregon's starting defense has allowed that were 50+ yards. I'm betting that number is pretty low.
