Thoughts while waiting for Berrt Farve's calcaneus bone to heal:
A surging Smell the Glove squad looks for its fourth straight win against Max's Weeping Grandmas, augmented by the acquisition of the Rams' defense. Does this mean I have to root for Marty Moore?
Alz looks to get back in the win column against the Romo-less Athol Marauders. There's no way someone won't make a gay reference out of that before Sunday.
AP, at 4-3 despite being the overall points leader, goes up against TK, who is 3-4 despite scoring the fewest points.
No word on whether the intra-office memoranda this week leading to the battle between Go 4 Broken and Hollywood 69 has tended toward "I'm rubber; you're glue" taunts.

LOL. I haven't even looked at my lineup and didn't know we were matched up against one another. But I can probably guess the outcome. I think I'm 0-3 against Greg this year.

Yeah I have scored the most and either had the most or second most points scored against me. I need to work on my defense.

I drafted poorly--of my top 3 choices, turner, moss, and pierre thomas, the last two have been almost a complete bust. And I don't know squat about the NFL, making me a poor choice to remold a team on the fly, such as Windy did. But in my defense, each week it seems like I played the highlight player of the week:
Week 1: Chad Ochocinco scores 21.90 (Artie beats me by 15)
Week 2: Pittsburgh defense scores 28.00 (Alz beats me by 5)
Week 3: Anquan Boldin scores 31.96 and Philip Rivers 26.40, a combined 58.36 (TK beats me by 24)
Week 4: LaDainian Tomlinson scores 27.50 and SD defense scores 28, a combined 55.5 (Windy beats me by 49)
Week 5: Hakeem Nicks scores 25.00 (Go4Broken beats me by 16)
Week 6: at last, no one goes gonzo on me and I beat TK by less than 2 points.
Week 7: Darren McFadden scores 43.6 (AP beats me by 26).

Up yours, Max.
AP's going to beat me and it's going to be a big-time ass whupping. There's no reason Rodgers should get 16 points at New York, or Woodhead getting 10 points, Peterson getting 11 points at New England or McFadden getting 12 points against Seattle's stout run defense, but it'll happen. I'm predicting he gets 15 points from KC's defense at home against Buffalo.
LOL @ Windy's smack talk:
hey HEY, Roddy White, you cut that out right now!
I felt the exact same way.

I have this idea that starting Woodhead is smart because he'll gets a few carries a game. That will give him a few points no matter what. It is better then the normal crapshot of getting points out of WRs. I am sure it will be a failing effort. Also Bush when he comes back should have a WR/RB status. He is as much of one as Woodhead is. Having big fantasy weeks depend on getting random TDs. I am convinced it takes no skill at all.

Wanna watch bad football? Look for a stream of the Rams-Panthers game.

Do you remember people legitimately trying to debate whether the Rams should draft Bradforf or Clausen? If Clausen isn't good enough to keep the starting job from Matt Moore, then he can't be very good.

Oh yeah. Plus, I have to give Shurmur credit. They had to game plan around short passes and it actually worked. Bradford was quick and accurate, which helped, but I didn't think they could dink and dunk their way to a victory.
Bradford's on pace for 3,200 yards, 22 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. And that's without a single deep threat and a cast of unknowns. I think they'll get two more wins (@ Arizona, vs. SF), which will have them picking near the Top 10 and make it impossible for them to get A.J. Green.
Oh well. Julio Jones + Noel Devine would be pretty good.

I don't know how much worse my luck can get in fantasy football. I'm currently losing by 22 to a guy who hasn't even played a single game. He's still got Ryan Grant and Sidney Rice in his lineup. My only hope is that Mike Wallace and Arian Foster go off.
There's a good chance I lose all seven of my games this week. Shit is falling apart fast.

Ours is going to be close. I am up by 9 and have a WR and K to play. You have your QB and WR.

The Lambs D comes up big and delivers 15 points for me. Once again, my first three picks are worthless, with Turner on a Bye week, thomas injured and Moss racking up a total of 0.8 points for me. Nevertheless, I'm up by 9 points over Artie, but he still has 2 WR, so I guess the final score might be anything from me winning by about 5, to losing by about 20.

In case anyone else is paying attention, the Raiders have outscored their opposition, 92-17, in the past two games.

At today's Rams game, a guy wearing a Raiders jersey walked past our seats. His head was bandaged, and there appeared to be blood oozing thru the gauze. I assumed it was a Halloween costume, but really wasn't sure.

I expect them to beat KC. They're playing real good football in the dome. Until they actually win a game on the road, I have to assume they'll lose their remaining road games.
Of course that still adds up to 6-10. Tough to guess what will be available until you know what underclassmen declare for the draft.

Ouch TK got me bad tonight. I needed 23 points from Vinatieri and Garcon tomorrow. Yahoo has them predicted at a combined 21. This is the first week I am unhappy with my picks. Picking Zack Miller over Jason Witten was a bad move.

Oooh. Clever.
In a larger realm, I never understand the mentality of wearing a third team's attire to a game. "Hey, the Giants are playing the Astros. I'll wear my Phillies hat!"
When I was out in Phoenix in 2004 for the Cards/Dbacks series, there was a woman from Detroit sitting in front of me in a Tigers' hat, talking incessantly about how much she was looking forward to getting home and seeing a game at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers had moved to Comerica Park five years earlier, so I don't know what she expected to see when she showed up. Maybe a mugging.

The Raiders have so many weapons right now, it's hard to pick out one.
Seriously, Miller is a much better play when Gradkowski is starting. Campbell doesn't throw to him nearly as often. And I think opposing teams have figured out Miller has (by far) the best hands on the team, so he's getting more attention lately.

I'm just glad that my opponent in my work league decided to sit David Garrard this week.

I don't know what was the second-best thing that happened on a football field this weekend. David Garrard turning the Cowboys' defense into tissue paper, Notre Dame gagging against Tulsa, or Eddie Royal's punt return against the 49ers being called back.

I think the best thing off the field was Randy Moss declaring that he'll ask and answer his own questions.

I'm disappointed he didn't ask himself why he's such a jerk.

I'm just curious which team will be dumb enough to sign him next season. Forget everything i said about wanting him in St. Louis. Bradford doesn't need a crybaby like Moss disrupting his development. I can't believe I'm saying this, but they're better off with Laurent Robinson than Randy Moss.

USA Today is reporting the Vikings waived Moss.
