Thirty years from now, am I going to have to tell my grandchildren I missed the dawn of the Michael; Wacha Era because I played in an over-30 rec league basketball game?

So wait, Wacha is starting tonight? First I'm hearing about this.

Mother Nature may delay/postpone the debut.

"delay/postpone"
Best guess whether they'll get it in?

With a line of showers about to hit downtown St. Louis, the Cardinals announced that the start of their game with the Royals -- the much anticipated debut of Michael Wacha -- will be delayed.
The game is expected to start about 8:15 p.m., a one-hour delay.
At 6:45, about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch, it began to pour at Busch Stadium. Radar showed the storm was headed this way and the tarp was already down.
Radar shows the line of storms pushing through the area, but there's a second line of showers that could cause some problems if they drift to the east. Be your own weather forecaster! Here's some radar.

During the rain delay, I'm watching the NCAA softball tournament game between ASU and Texas. Texas' pitcher is apparently tipping her pitches, and ASU's third base coach is yelling at the batter to let her know what's coming. I don't know what the protocol is in softball, but if a third base coach tried that in a baseball game, he wouldn't have any teeth by the time the second batter of the game came up.

Geez-us, Wacha gets his first hit too.
Should have scored his first run, but Oquendo had a brain fart.

Kottaras couldn't hit an old lady in a crosswalk.

TTTIB loses.

The Brewers and the Twins are wearing throwback uniforms tonight. The Twins are reprsenting the St. Paul Somethingorothers, which is easy, but the Brewers are wearing vintage Milwaukee Braves uniforms, which look almost exactly like the current Atlanta Braves uniforms. Very confusing.

Is Holliday using a broomstick tonight? He looks very uncomfortable.

Yeah, he's been brutal.
Nice play Beltran.

I have a bad feeling all those stranded runners are going to come back to bite them.

Kottaras couldn't hit a beach ball with an oar.

Thank goodness.
Wacha may have another inning in him, but his night is nearing an end. There were some hard hit balls that inning.

He's left a small village on base tonight.

Hopefully that was a lesson about what happens when you fall behind major league hitters in the count. Have to say his changeup is a very impressive pitch.

The Pittsburgh Pirates now have the second-best record in baseball ....

And that should be all for Michael Wacha. Now let's score some runs, preserve the bullpen and get him a win.

Jon Jay is slumping badly again.

Isn't Wacha a compensation pick from the Angels?

I'd say he's on a very short leash here in the 7th ...

Yes.
Why is he back out for the 7th?

The Royals are a poor fundamental team. What was that, a 5-6 pitch inning?
