Re: 6/4 GC

Butler's competent. I'd keep him over Marte.

The "emergency catcher" thing isn't meant to be taken literally, Mike.

Horton checks in with the requisite Ron Hunt reference.

Smart play by Freese, trading Ross for Parra.

Re: 6/4 GC

The good news is Marte threw 32 pitches and probably won't be available tomorrow.

Better news would be that he's on a barge back to Memphis.

Does anyone think miller and wacha can do this all year?  This is alittle unreal.

Let's hope not.

Just back from the bar.  Wacha's line is awful.

so glad i didnt.  I was very unsuprised to see how it ended.  The only thing that suprised me was it took an extra 3 innings after i went to bed.  Matheny should have just put marte in the game in the 10th and got it over with.

Bad news is that mujica, rosenthal and maness all threw 2 innings. rosenthal and mujica both unneededly threw an inning monday.  on top of that joe kelly is leading off today in a bullpen game.  last nights game smoked the bullpen.  Id just forfit todays game and save kelly from tj surgery.

The cardinals better have prepared last night to make a roster move.  Idk who they have in memphis anymore but they need a arm for tonights game.

There's speculation that both Siegrist and Scrabble could be brought up with Butler and Marte going out to give Matheny some options tonight.

Re: 6/4 GC

It sounds ot me like it is about time to diagnose Marte with some previously hidden and unspecific medical issues that reuqire a trip to the DL.  Not that the Cards would ever abuse the DL to make roster moves.

Is "gluttony" a medical disability?

Re: 6/4 GC

Oddly, there is discussion within the medical community of an infactious source of obesity, and it kind of makes sense.

Ever since stomach ulcers came to be treated as an infectious disease, the medical community has been in a quiet revolution searching for infectious sources of other disorders: a type of heart disease and obesity are high on the list.

Why would the Cardinal put Marte on the DL?  Then they have to pay him a full MLB salary.  Just hook his fat ass up to a buoy and let him float down the river until he gets to Memphis.  With the current river stages, he should be there by dinner time if not sooner.

Marte down, Cleto up.

That's a major improvement {{SMH}}
