FIVE, Baby. Count 'em

The Reds continue to lose such that, despite our mediocrity, we are now just five games out of first place.  This is doable, gentlemen. Reds had their chance to put us away and they didn't do it!  Time to show them who really is the Big Red Machine.

Grab your Cards cap, strap on your glove, channel your inner 12 year-old.  This is gonna be a wild ride but we're gonna do it.  Cards, NLC Division Champs, 2010!!!!

Go Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, let's not go all George Bush.  We still have to play the games.

But by gum, we're gonna do it!

At this point, I'd settle for Trot Nixon via Larry Bigbie and HWSNBN.  Gotta get this lawn gnome off my back.

JV, I hear ya.  Look, maybe you could tell me your thoughts on the Cardinals scoring such a big win on this, the end of Ramadan--a night for celebration; and how does Led Zeppelin and English Premier League fit in with all this?  Tell me your thought in, say, 8 posts . . .

Exactly how many messages must one post before he sheds the stigma of AAAron Miles? Just curious.

Not sure... sounds like 25 per Max's last reply.  But kudos to APRTW for his management skills.  I shall now repost this message in at least six languages and/or use it as a takeoff for a number of Monty Python riffs, such as:

Peasant Woman: 'Ow d'ya know 'e's a administrator?

Dennis: 'E 'asn't got Miles all over 'im.

Oh, by the way... I forgot about the other threads.  I'll keep my non-baseball stuff off this one going forward.

Re: FIVE, Baby. Count 'em

If the Cardinals could win tonight they would be just 4 out of the wild card.

Re: FIVE, Baby. Count 'em

With the Padres blowing their sizable lead and playing the Gaints right now the upcomming series with the Padres could be huge.  If the Gaints over take the Padres the Cardinals would have series with every team ahead of them in the wild card standings.  They would have 3 more games against the Braves, 3 against the Rockies and I believe 4 against the Padres.  If they could take all three game against the Braves it would be a dead heat in the wild card standings.

Carp goes tonight against Minor (5.20 ERA)
Westbroook goes against Hanson tomorrow
Loshe against Hudson sunday

Should be able to take 2 out of 3.

That's what I thought about Milwaukee, and the pitching matchups might have been even better for that series.

Was he the guy that said we've got the economy back on track?

No, he's the guy who pretended to fly a jet onto an aircraft carrier, and then stood in front of a giant banner that said Mission Accomplished, while proclaiming victory in a war he began as a means to end a weapons of mass destruction program that didn't exist.
