8/30 GC

The only bad pitch Miller has thrown so far was the one that Jones hit.

Re: 8/30 GC

The Cardinals have to stop trying to pull that 2-seamer that cuts down and away to righthanded hitters. It would almost be worth a shot to sending up lefties against Liriano. They can't do any worse than the righthanded lineups they've rolled out there against him.

Re: 8/30 GC

I don't know if you guys are getting this on the St. Louis broadcast, but the Pittsburgh version is picking up a woman in the crowd who is apparently sitting near a microphone screaming like she's having an orgasm every time the Pirates hit anything louder than a foul tip.

Re: 8/30 GC

Oh, don't go out and fucking argue, Mike. Just wait around until one of your middle infielders has his knee blown out on a take-out slide because he had to be sure he was on the bag instead of two inches from it.

Re: 8/30 GC

Bob asked me to take him to our high school s football game. Despite the fact it was 94 at the start of the game it looks like I made the right call.

Re: 8/30 GC

I don't know why you all bitched about pitching depth. This rotation is dandy.

Re: 8/30 GC

Freeman looks like a much more confident pitcher.
(Hey, I'm grasping for positives. There hasn't been a lot to root for tonight.)

Who were they going to go out and get, TK? Short of Cliff Lee, whose name was out there who would have been a substantial upgrade?
Miller gave up one run to the Braves in his last start. He's a 20-year-old rookie. To expect him to be Greg Maddux every fifth day at this point in his career is a little ambitious.

Robinson made a nice relay throw as the Pirates were sprinting around the bases after Beltran was nice enough to let him play the ball off the wall in right instead of running and maybe catching it, but other than that I can't think of anything.
I don't think the Cardinals have had a runner past first base tonight.

I'm here and it's as bad as it looks. Happy crowd, though.

Kozma needs to spend a week on the beach in Bermuda or somewhere where he doesn't have to think about baseball.

Would you tell the woman sitting under the Root TV booth to stop screaming?

Two nice plays by Craig. That call at 2nd was such shit, although my Buc fan neighbors disagree.

JV, where does one go for libations before/after a game at PNC? I've heard it's a great park but there's not much to do other than go to the game.

Tell them that in the major leagues, the middle infielder is usually given the benefit of the doubt so he doesn't get wiped out by the runner bearing down on him. I know it's been awhile since PirateFan has seen major league-caliber baseball, so they may have forgotten.

Rox 4, TTTIB 2, B4. Helton just hit a 3-run homer off Arroyo that landed in Saskatchewan.

Re: 8/30 GC

I obviously made the right call. Our high school's 2012 team won 1 game. They're opening against last year's State champs and with 9 minutes left in the game we're down 28-21, but we're driving.
