"an event that didn't have a television"

I would have faked illness or injury.

With both the Cardinals and Mizzou playing, it would have taken quite a bit to get me away from a TV.

That said, I had the privilege of giving the induction speech for a 30 year friend of mine who was being inducted into the St. Louis Bowling Hall of Fame.

Of course with technology being what it is, I was never very out of touch with what was happening in either game.

We were out last night at an event that didn't have a television. We made it to a bar just in time to see Craig's at bat and then the ending. I called interference as soon as it happened. It was pretty obvious.

Anyone from Boston who tries to argue the umps made the wrong call is an idiot. The rule doesn't require an intent to interfere, though it looked as though Middlebrooks brought up his legs on purpose.

I figured the players knew better, but the quotes from Red Sox (including, astonishingly, Saltalamacchia) talk of breaks not going their way.

"I don't think you finish a World Series game like that," Ortiz sighed, a sentiment that echoed around the Boston clubhouse.

Fuck you and the guy Craig rode in, Papi.

Translation: we're the Red Sox, we should be permitted to break the rules and how dare the umpires actually hold us to them.

No offense Artie, but I hate Bostonians.

Re: world series game 3

Comments from the players themselves in the inmediate aftermath aside, I've been kind of surprised there hasn't been a lot more whining today. Red Sox' fans who understand the obstruction rule recognize the call was correct, just as Cardinals' fans who understand the transfer rule knew the call at second base in Game 1 was ultimately correct.
