Watching the replay of yesterday's game right now. He looks pretty smooth. And young. Or maybe I'm just old.
It is me, or is it always windy in Jupiter? I don't think I've ever watched a game there when the players' shirt sleeves aren't flapping in the wind.

Re: Spring Training intrigue

Kelly wins the 5th spot.  Both pitchers pitched well enough to earn the job.  The cardinals simply went with the easiest option.  Limit martinezs innings and keep kelly in a roll he is better at.

I think Kelly would have really had to crap his pants for things to go the other way. This really sets up the back end of the bullpen.

Re: Spring Training intrigue

Probably getting ahead of myself.  Who knows what happens with the rotation and who knows how efective motte is in his return.  Still thinking about martinez, motte and rosenthal in the later innings is pleasant.  Bullpen management will be key.  You cant go to the well every night but your going to win alot of series if u can nail down the 7th, 8th and 9th.

Re: Spring Training intrigue

The Marlins appear to be in mid-season form:

Peter Bourjos singles on a line drive to left fielder Christian Yelich. Peter Bourjos advances to 2nd, on a fielding error by left fielder Christian Yelich. None out.

Pete Kozma singles on a ground ball to right fielder Giancarlo Stanton. Peter Bourjos scores. Pete Kozma advances to 2nd, on a fielding error by right fielder Giancarlo Stanton. None out.

With Kolten Wong batting, wild pitch by Jose Fernandez, Pete Kozma to 3rd.
