Hard to believe this toxic waste dump of a game is still 1-0.

Re: Real Opening Day Gamecrap

That 8th inning might have been the worst I've ever seen. How in the hell did Cincy not score?

Re: Real Opening Day Gamecrap

A more conventional 9th would make me happier.

Good to see Cincy fans sticking around. Has Bengals camp started?

All fans still in the stadium at the end of the game get 5 boxes of Sudafed and a do-it-yourself meth kit.

Think Billy Hamilton wanted any part of Rosenthal?

He may already have been on his way back to Louisville by the ninth inning.
In all sincerity, he probably had a better shot against Rosenthal because it was Waino's curve that was making him look foolish, and Rosey doesn't throw a curve. But I don't know if you chance sending a guy up there for a chance to strike out for the fifth time in five at bats on his first opening day.

Re: Real Opening Day Gamecrap

Hamilton's progress will be interesting to track.

Not that fantasy baseball means much in terms of the real game, but in our draft last Saturday someone paid $25 for Hamilton. He might win the guy the stolen base category, but to give you an idea of player cost, I got Adrian Gonzalez for $26. Puig went for $26. Justin Upton went for $29.

Like Artie said, you can't steal 1st. Hamilton will be exciting to watch if he can get on base. But he could be back in the minors by June if he can't hit at this level.

A lot of good hitters have trouble with Wainwright's curveball, but Hamilton was a clueless today as I've ever seen a major leaguer.

Re: Real Opening Day Gamecrap

I wish Max was still around, because today's game exemplifies why a win is an important statistic. Wainwright's and Cueto's lines will look almost identical, and after 30 starts, one skinny run will be imperceptible on a stat sheet. But today that run was the difference between a win and a loss. And that's part of the reason why Wainwright has been on teams that have gone deep into the playoffs, and Cueto's team loses in the first round or in a wild card game.

Re: Real Opening Day Gamecrap

Watched some of Angels/Mariners last night. Thought I might have heard a few boos directed toward Albert. Freese looks lost at the plate.
