Yep. Even when he's pitching "well" he's still skating on thin ice with his spotty control.
Idk what he needs to do. I just think this is his ceiling. Idk if he would be better off to stop over throwing and spot the ball better. That doesnt seem to be the kind of pitcher he is. Without the heat i think he would get lit up.
Im thinking garcia comeback strong and motte and kelly joining the bullpen would be welcomed.

Not being critical of MM in any way, but he just left Kelly in the game to hit with runners and second and third so he could get one out in the sixth.

I think Siegrist will come out for the eighth. Rosenthal will pick him up if he can't do his job.
The Cardinals have a lot of outfielders in Springfield and Memphis right now who aren't going to get a chance to play. I suspect some of them are going to be used to bolster the bullpen at some point. I'm guessing Motte is key to how high they aim.

Motte showing up will be key. They have to get somebody to deal with the early innings as well. Its early but its a mess.

The Cardinals currently have twice as many HRs from the SS position as they did in 2013.
And at this rate, Siegrist, Martinez and Rosenthal won't make it through July.
They need Motte back soon. Also, if I remember correctly, Aardsma accepted an assignment to Memphis. Maybe he can find something.

Hopefully Wainwright can deliver a series win tomorrow, but worst case, Cards go 3-3 on this trip. That's OK by me.

Maybe, but the Cardinals weren't going to pay $5 million to a setup guy with a history of inconsistency.
He wants to be a closer anyway.
