That would have been my first semester at ASU. Still can't believe they kicked me out of there for partying too much. It's like getting booted out of Augusta National for playing too much golf.

People still think I'm crazy when I say the smartest thing I did was not going directly to college. I'd have never made it into law school with the damage I'd have done to my GPA.

I don't think it's crazy at all. I should have taken one, and probably three, years off before I went to college. There's no way I was ready to take on college when I was 17 going on 18. The only one who said anything to the contrary was my dad, who at least wanted to send me to prep school for a PG year, but even part of that was because he thought I was a much better baseball player than I was. I had no idea how to study and I had no idea how to manage my time.

I expected him to have a good year. I was hoping I could get him for a decent price in our fantasy draft.

He's came into the game hitting .240, though he bulked that up to .269 with two hits so far off an Oakland pitcher who looks like he's about 14 years old and weighs about 140 pounds. The posts in my fence are thicker than this kid's legs

For some reason I think this is going to be his best year as an Angel.

Freese, on the other hand, is batting under .150. He has 12 strikeouts in 41 at bats.

He's out-hitting Craig.

Bob Davidson should have retired at least 10 years ago. He needs to be at home, yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

I was halfass listening on the radio at the time,  what was it all about?

Re: 4/14 Gamecrap

According to Matheny, he and Lilliquist had been barking at Davidson for his dumb strike zone. He rang Carpenter up on a pitch that looked outside (but was going for both pitchers) and he argued about it. Davidson threw Carpenter out as he was walking away. Carpenter claims he didn't say anything out of line. I think Artie is right that Davidson is just an old crank.

I'll bet you $1 at the end of the season Craig's offensive numbers exceed Freese's in every significant offensive category.

It really wasn't much of an argument. You don't see a lot of guys get tossed while they're walking back to the dugout. Unless Bob Davidson is involved.

Re: 4/14 Gamecrap

The fans at Miller Park last night came to get drunk, eat sausages and watch Bob Davidson.

I bet he created his own baseball cards.

If they don't the season will have gone horribly awry.

I still can't believe Moz actually pulled something of value out of Freese and Salas.

But your point about Bob Davidson believing people buy tickets to watch him umpire is probably more accurate than you think. The only other umpire like that is Angel Hernandez. West was a decent umpire during the Jurassic Era, unlike Phil Cuzzi, who has never been any good. C.B. Bucknor's incompetence is incalcuable. But he's usually not angry. When you're that bad at something, you just apologize and move on.

You're forgetting who was on the other end of that deal. You don't excatly have to whip out the Jedi Mind Trick to put one over on Jerry DiPoto.
