Thanks, Natinals defense.

It's not often you score three runs without hitting a ball in the air to the outfield.

Question that has nothing to do with baseball: Are New Englanders the only people who put ground beef on top of a pizza?

Jordan's sinker is nasty.

We do it here. I think caseys and pizza hut both have beef on there menu. I dont think it is near as popular as pork. Of course in southern illinois nothing is.
I bet im the only one here who has had deer as a pizza topping.

This game feels like a womens softball game. Alot of infield action.

Is anyone suprised that rondon was called up? His numbers are not great. I cant see his game logs. Maybe he is pitching better of late.

McLouth's walkup music is a Mister Mister song?

I haven't.
I was in our pizza joint tonight and a guy walked in and ordered a "hamburg pizza." The terms "hamburg" and "hamburger" are sometimes interchangeable here. I think the doofuses with the Boston accents pronounced it "hamburgah" for so long they eventually just dropped the last syllable.

I thought Aardsma would come up first. One of the new callups may not be here very long. Kelly is on the DL, which means they'll either have to move Martinez to the rotation or call up a starter, probably Lyons. I'm guessing they'll bring up Lyons rather than screw around with Martinez. There's not enough time to stretch him out, and he's already become MM's 8th inning binkie.

Yeah you dont fuck with martinez. Wouldnt be good for him or the bullpen. Not for one start.
Thats a valid point. Maybe they didnt want to call aardsma up just to send him back down. Maybe his contract wont allow it. Idk, personally i would have. This bullpen needs to find a stable arm. With aardsma he has no value after 2014. The sooner you find out if he can help the better.

Aardsma isn't on the 40 man roster. The guys who got called up were. Matheny has already said that Monday's start will be made by a AAA starter, presumably Lyons

Not on the 40 man. That makes a difference

WTF??? Is Washington even trying???

So if they call up these two guys and send them down, they can do that without waivers, whereas if they put Aardsma on the 40-man and and then have to send him back down, he'd have to pass through waivers, correct?

This might be the worst game I've ever seen a major league team play. It's not often you ever see a team working on an 0-1-4 line score.

That depends on whether or not Aardsma still has options (he probably doesn't). The issue with Aardsma is if they are already at 40, they would have to release someone to make room on the roster for Aardsma (unless there's someone that can be moved to the 60 day DL).
