As if we didn't know already. For those who haven't seen it, John Lackey talked shit about Nelson Cruz and his suspension, so Buck Showalter stepped in and told Lackey to piss off because David Ortiz flunked an actual drug test in 2003. Joe Magrane (on the MLB Network) reminded everyone that David Ortiz used to be a steroid user, which prompted Ortiz to take his pity party to the ballwashers at WEEI. Deadspin has a good rundown here:

Lackey is a miserable douchebag and Ortiz is insufferable, but there's something really, really bizarre about Buck Showalter's obsession with the Red Sox. It goes beyond managing two teams in the same division. When the Orioles knocked the Red Sox out of the playoffs on the last day of the season a couple of years ago, they celebrated was like they were going to the post-season.
Not that I think Showalter's comment was uncalled for in this instance. And Oritz is really starting to wear people down with his constant complaining, whether it's about the official scorer or his contract or PED references or whatever.

Maybe they hate the Red Sox as much as the other 28 teams.
Robert Andino will forever be a hero.
