For some no-name reliever.

That should definitely help us, whether he takes Rosenthal's job, or just sets up for him. It's a big deal for us either way.

Correct. Matheny is riding the hell out of a few guys, and we don't know yet what Walden will be like.

Typical of the Cardinal organization after the break. Nothing flashy, but usually solid til September. is a bat , on their radar next ?

For me, the optimal scenario is still Adam Lind.

Seems like whatever issues he had earlier in the season got fixed with that stint in the minors. I don't know anything about the player they gave up, but they needed help for a tired bullpen.

From what little I read about the player they gave up, he was a 25 year old AA pitcher. Probably someone they drafted as a college senior. This seems like a really smart move, and as Artie said, Cichek has been really good since returning from the minors.

He would fit like a glove. I think I read someplace that cishek has been really solid of late and his era is misleading.

If they get walden back and rosenthal gets right again, they have 4 good late inning bullpen arms.
