Pirates just finished off the Cubs 5-4 in game one of their doubleheader.

The nightcap will be, approximately, the 125th game the Pirates have played at home this season.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The St. Louis Cardinals activated outfielder Matt Holliday from the 15-day disabled list in time for a series against theMilwaukee Brewers.
The Cardinals said Holliday will not be in the lineup Tuesday.
The 35-year-old missed 41 games after being sidelined July 30 with a right quadriceps strain. He had appeared in just 11 games since July 16.
Holliday was batting .290 with four homers and 31 RBIs. He was voted a starter on the National League All-Star team for the first time in his career but did not play due to injury.

Matt Adams is starting tonight. Thrilling.

When Heyward's body is "quiet" he can show off his power. That was a gorgeous-looking double.

Doesn't take much to shut this lineup down.

That play by Martinez on the sac bunt in the bottom of the sixth may have been the most athletic thing I've ever seen a pitcher do.

I wish I could save big money at Menard's.

Bill Schroeder is going bonkers because Matheny is *letting* Siegrist pitch to all these righties.

Turkey jerky is more expensive than beef jerky. Jack's Links can kiss my ass.

Already sick of the Manning brothers' Direct TV commercials.

Wasn't aware there are different kinds of jerky.

Anderson and Schroeder are still going on about the "guts" Matheny showed by leaving in Siegrist. Would you guys check your stat sheets? Siegrist's BAA is about 100 points lower when he faces righties.

Martimez with a 180 from his last start and Heyward with the big blow gives the Cards a good start in this series.....

Aye. And the turkey kind is $10. Beef is $7.

A sweep here would be terrific. I don't think they have to face Jungmann, who's been their best pitcher lately.

How does one prepare jerky?
We have a lone wild turkey that likes to roam around our neighborhood. From what I understand, a singular turkey is an unusual phenomenon. They usually prefer to stay in their rafter. This one tends to be alternately aggressive and passive. He's chased after children and people who try to take pictures of him, but sometimes you'll see him laying on the grass. Once, we saw him lounging in the drive-through lane at the bank. Personally, and mind you I have no training or education in zoology, I think the damn bird is mentally-retarded.

Thats wierd. It is sort of how a goose will act. Turkeys are normally in groups outside of mating time in the spring. Then it isnt uncommon to see them by themselfs.
I make jerky. It is pretty easy. I take ground deer and mix it with the pakets you buy at the store that has some sort of seasoning with it and a salt cure. Then u shoot it out of a jerky gun onto a dehydrater and leave it on for 4 or 5 hrs. You can also slice whole pieces of meat into thin slices and dry it.
