Brayan Pena will open the season on the DL and is expected to be out 2-4 weeks.
So, Jhonny Peralta, Jordan Walden, Brayan Pena, Ruben Tejada and Jose Oquendo all get hurt this spring. I'm sure this is a good sign.

Might as well add lynn as well.

Holliday at 1B, Gyorko batting 8th.

The Cardinals' infield defense could be spectacularly bad this year.

Thank goodness Carpenter is leading off instead of one of the fast guys who could steal a base.

I don't know if Liriano is really nasty or if the Cardinals are really bad.

Shocking. Tommy Pham gets hurt.

He almost made it through an inning.

Terrible decision to pitch around Jordy Mercer.

Jaso's hair looks ridiculous.

Safe to say Wong was expecting a slider.

He better watch himself before he get accused of misappropriating black culture.

Matt Adams batting against Francisco Liriano. Yippee.

Two obvious things have happened one hour into the season:
1. Tommy Pham got hurt sneezing
2. Matt Adams looked lost against a lefty

A real throwback to the fashionable days of rap-metal in 2001.

I know the Cardinals really think their "Cardinal Way" bullshit is important, and they try to convince everyone that their clubhouse is a magical place where interlopers aren't accepted, but short of learning that they're pedophiles, it's inexcusable that they apparently never considered Upton or Cespedes this offseason.
This offense is borderline unwatchable. It has been for 3 years now and they've done nothing to fix it because they could hide the deficiencies behind a year during which they had an unsustainable rate of hitting with RISP and 2 years of exceptional pitching. If the pitching regresses to merely above-average, this team won't win 85 games.

Seems an odd time for a sac bunt.

Seems an odd time for a squeeze.

Sometimes the oddest times are the best times.

When they get Peralta back, it will be just like acquiring a hitter at the trade deadline.
