In college, I pulled mop up duty in a game like this, throwing to a very jittery backup catcher who almost never played. About the fifth time in the inning he went to the mound to talk to me, the plate umpire said, approximately: "Young man, if you go out there one more time, don't bother coming back."

We complain about Matheny and his stubbornness to bat Holliday 3rd or Molina 5th, but Pujols is hitting .183 and he's started and batted 4th in all 33 games the Angles have played this year.
Trout has an OBP over .400, but he's only scored 9 runs excluding the times he drove in himself.
The Angels still owe Pujols about $160M over the next 5+ seasons. Didn't Max once try to convince us that Pujols would walk away from the money if he could no longer perform up to his expectations?
