I get that Arrieta is tough. I get that our offense isn't amazing. We lost some.
But seriously how the fuck is our pitching that goddamned bad? Six is not a serious number. Six is a number I've come to count on the Cardinal pitchers giving up in a single inning. If we'd been able to keep the Cubs to 6 runs, we'd be winning this game.....
I came to terms with the fact that this team would be less offensively than last season, and probably hadn't done enough to match the Cubs. I did not think however that our best starter would be a 3.59 Jaime Garcia, who just became our best starter after 3.56 ERA Carlos Martinez blew himself to a 4.25 today. Wainright just got it under 6. Wacha having trouble staying under 5, Leake is unable to get it under 4...
Our worst ERA from a starter was a 3.38 last season. We are just SOOOOOO much worse on the mound.
