The Reds are going to be perpetual losers for a long time. Joey Votto refuses to be traded, Brandon Phillips should've been traded two years ago and Jay Bruce won't bring in the haul they need. They flipped Chapman and Cueto for scrubs. The only time I hope this team wins is against the Cubs.

Molina is playing like he's 40. Years of neglecting a capable backup, letting him dictate his playing time and the injuries have just added to the natural wear that comes with catching.

The other day Little Dunc' was on the radio (think it may have been Bernie's show, but not sure) saying something to the effect that Matheny is conflicted because, as a catcher, he wanted to play every day, so he understands Molina's desire to play.

It might have been one of the stupidest conversations I've ever heard. If Matheny doesn't have the backbone to tell a player to sit, then he has no business managing a major league team.

Maybe he needs to distribute his manifesto to the Cardinals players.
