    Matheny should tell his players the next time a catcher blocks the plate like that, whoever is running ought to crash him.

    Nitkowski said Wong could have made contact in that instance. How is the runner supposed to know when there are exceptions to the rule when he's barreling down the third base line?
    Again, I'd just tell my players to crash the catcher and let them sort it out after.

    All his chances were routine. He didn't look better at the plate. His hit was a seeing eye single.

    In other words his small sample size effort coming back from Memphis was pretty much SOS.

    I have no idea why they rushed Wong back.

    I think they should've traded Rosenthal during the offseason. I get that they wanted to put together an elite bullpen, but closers have a short shelf-life. They are going to be stuck with him now. They can non-tender him but that would be getting zip on the return.
