Wow, Matheny really disrespecting Molina's veteran leadership by batting him seventh.

I like him batting 7th. If wong wasnt starting he should be batting 8th. That was a horrible job by molina there. U got to at least move the runners

Good at bat by wacha. Keep his pitch count up.

Another 20 pitch inning at least

Nice dp

When Wacha loses it, he loses it quickly. I think he's best suited for a relief role.

He got out of a good jam there. He was bailed out by the dp but still hung in there after that. Im not sure his stuff is iver powering enough to be a good relief pitcher. Maybe a middle inning guy but he is worth more then that as a starter, even as a 5th starter.

Oh, I think he can be a great reliever. He touches 97 (I think he may have topped out around 98 as a reliever in 2013) and his change-up is devastating. If all he had to come in and do was throw two pitches a night, he'd be dominant.

Maybe he can crank it up out of the bullpen. Ever since his injury i havent been as impressed with his fastball.

Cubs have helped the cardinals out this game between the poor base running and rizzo dropping the ball at first. Cards just have to make it last.

Wachas bringing it this inning.

Need some more runs because there's no way Wacha and the bullpen can keep it a two-run game.

Matheny has made some good calls. Moss scoring at home and the hit and run make me think there is hope for matheny.

There's still a lot of time for him to screw things up.

Just reread my post. I ment moss running on contact and scoring.

I cannot say this emphatically enough--the Cardinals must win this game. There isn't any reason to believe they can catch the Cubs, but sweeping a series in Wrigley, including beating Arrieta would be huge, and now that they have this lead it would be soul-crushing to lose.

If they wouldn't have fucked around vs the rangers they would be feeling really good about themselfs.

Completely unrelated to the Cardinals, but has anyone else noticed that Carlos Beltran is having an All-Star caliber season in New York? He hit his 19th HR earlier today and now has 51 RBI while hitting .280 and slugging .570.

Can anyone imagine where this team would be if Ruben Tejada hadn't suffered an injury in spring training and if Pham hadn't gotten hurt on Opening Day?
