Can anyone imagine where this team would be if Ruben Tejada hadn't suffered an injury in spring training and if Pham hadn't gotten hurt on Opening Day?
I feel the sarcasm but seriously the team is much better with peralta.

Let's hope that elbow inflammation that was making Seth Maness suck for the last calendar year has cleared up and he can end this inning.

I was being serious. If Tejada doesn't get hurt, and then Pham get hurt, Diaz might still be in Memphis.

Somebody want to explain this bloody team?

Is this lead Maness-proof?

Well if you look at it that way then i agree. Could go as far as to say hazelbaker wouldnt have been either. His early production probably won a few games.

That's true. Hazelbaker only made the team because Tejada got hurt. Then, when Pham got injured they called up Diaz because they already had an extra outfielder.
It's not quite like when Bobby Bonilla got hurt and TLR kept a rookie third baseman that few people had heard of, but I think it's safe to say Ruben Tejada would have performed a little worse than Diaz has.

Totally agree and i was vocal in spring and coming into the season that the cards should roll with diaz. That they nothing to lose in seeing what diaz could do over tejada reliable averageness.
I also have said that this infield realignment would be a success and i think it has been. Peralta has been a very good third baseman from what ive seen. Carps made every play he should have and while diaz was improving before i think having two veterans flanking him has helped him as well.
Hopefully wong can improve his value to a tradable level. Adams has been a plus this year but im thinking now would be a good time to sell high on him.

Ill pat myself on the back alittle more. I feel slightly trolled tho.
My words on 6/20
"They will not give up on him so easy, nor do i think they should. Maybe they just need to take him out of the closer role for awhile. Oh is clearly the most dominant reliever on the team. Does anyone remember how long they stuck with ryan franklin?"
My words on 6/21
I think he is getting a few bad breaks coupled with his control issues it implodes. I really dont think he is far off. I dont think he should be allowed to figure it out while working the 9th."
