I dont think tlr should have ever taken on a front office job. I think he always needed a check and balance system in place.

TLR made a huge mistake hiring a grossly underqualified Dave Stewart to be his GM. Stewart had minimal experience as an Assistant GM, and almost all of his post-baseball experience was as a pitching coach. Stewart has made some really poor decisions in his tenure as GM--the Miller trade and Greinke signing being 1 and 1A on the list.

Grienke is pitching close to his career numbers. Surely the dbacks didnt expect him to put up 2015 numbers again. Thats not to say i think he is worth 31mill or whatever. Idk that any pitcher is.
I wonder how much control dave steward has. Tlr doesnt seem like the giving type. I figured when that pick was made it was because tlr figured he could control his opinion.
