Is it a bad sign that after Diaz pinch hit, he didn't stay in the game. On one hand, that suggests that Matheny understands how bad Diaz's defense is, but on the other hand, it's an indication that Diaz isn't a major league SS.

He isnt and idk how long they can get away with playing him there. I also dont know if his best position is second or third. The cardinals have the ablity to move him to either spot in season if they wish. It is probably a smart decision.
