Gyorko has done some good work at third. He'll never be confused with Scott Rolen, but he's been more than adequate.

Yes , thanks . So far that is . I'm in NW La. ,but had to go down and help get my daughter and two grandkids out of N. Houston. Son in law is staying behind with his AK 47 and other weaponry to guard against looters , who have a nasty habit of showing up to these type of events ...

Good to see Carpenter got the lead off spot back.
Hope everything works out for you and your family Don.

He was supposedly suffering from some sort of 36-hour stomach bug. But he walked once and hit three deep fly balls, one which made it to the warning track and drew ooohs and aaaahs from some of the attendees.
Defensively, there was a play I think he should have made on a ground ball that one of the left-handed hitters hit between him and the bag in Tampa's big third inning. But I fear I'm so jaded against him at this point I might be looking for stuff to criticize him for that may not be there.
Edit: This was supposed to be a response to Fors' post about Carpenter. I replied to the wrong message.
