Sorry for starting this new topic. I tried to post a reply to the big thread and was told I didn't have permission. Then I saw a message saying the topic was closed.
What's the deal with Hosmer? He's been from the start the guy I most wanted to see the Cards sign. But for some reason that I can't recall, he seems to be off the table.

Hosmer is still available, but he’s a Boras client and there was a rumor that Boras was asking 8 years, $200M. There’s little to no chance Hosmer gets that, but given the history of Boras clients waiting until the last minute, I’d be surprised if Hosmer signs anywhere anytime soon.

I assumed there was some sort of limit on the number of comments.
Thanks.

But what are you going to do with the .240 hitter the lineup is currently built around?

Use him as a pinch runner.

Only if Herb Washington is unavailable.

If he is still living, I'd bet that he is faster.

He's alive, 66-years-old and I'd wager $10 he's faster going first to third than Carpenter.

You're probably right. I can't recall ever seeing Carpenter go from first to third.

I think it happened once last year when Fowler hit a triple.

Are you sure it wasn't Molina who hit the triple?

Im sure he has tried unsuccessfully.
