That was Mags.
I don't know much about Leone, but he didn't look the same after he humped up on those two fastballs to Cain.

My mistake. Not an ideal situation, but I would’ve had Norris up. At least he has closer experience.

No worries. I really don't give a shit if the kid's arm falls off.

It was put on in october.  A trickle down the chimney is how much it is leaking.  I dont get it.  I got to go up there and look at it after bit.  I put the roof on myself except for around the chimney.  Had a guy who does it for a living flash it in.  Imo it was over killed as far as how leak proof it was.  I hate being on my roof and in my attic and i got to do both today.  Last fall i fell off my roof onto a latter and my right ass cheek had a bruise on it that was half the size of a loaf of bread.  Hurt like a mf.

This is why I don't go on ladders anymore. Or my roof.
We had the same issue a few years ago after we had new shingles installed by a roofer that was recommended to my wife by my mother-in-law. We also started getting bats (the mammals that fly, not the wooden Louisville Slugger variety) in our attic. We hired a different contractor and he told us the previous contractor forgot to/didn't install the flashing around the chimney.
My mother-in-law's advice was to sue the original roofer. I told her I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. That flew over her head like a Bob Gibson heater.

Checked my roof.  Looks fine, which annoys me more.  I trust the construction guy i hired.  He will come help me fix it if i need.  Idk what there is to do beside add more caulk.  Idk why everything i touch turns to shit.  I guess i should be grateful i made it off the roof and out of the attic without injury.

Maybe i should call ur MIL and ask her what she suggest.

Agree, wasnt thinking this would have been his third night at time of post. Guess the issue then goes to why was he used yesterday with a 4 run lead.

Exactly.

I know people have different opinions about Bernie, but he talked about the bullpen this morning and asked the question, why does Matheny need an 8 man bullpen when he only uses 5 guys?  Why couldn't Tuivailala have pitched with the 4 run lead?  Why not Norris of Tuivailala last night?  Why is Mayers even on the team if he isn't going to pitch?  Bernie's point--as much as we want to believe Maddux will have an impact on the use of the bullpen, it's still Matheny's show, and after 7 years, Matheny still doesn't know how to manage a bullpen.

Remember all the talk about using statistics to make sure pitchers had the best matchups?  Going into last night's game, Braun had faced Leone 3 times.  He was 3 for 3 with 2 HRs.  Make that 4 for 4 with 3 HRs?  Why is Leone pitching to Braun?

Re: 4/3 my new roof is leaking...errr

I think as a general rule your better relief pitchers should never pitch back to back days unless the 2nd appearance is followed by an off day,  unless necessary to win the game at hand.  With a 4 run lead in the 9th it isnt necessary to throw hicks.

I didnt know those splits on leone ans braun.  Thats so stupid it hurts.

Brian Anderson pointed out Braun's numbers against Leone in the bottom of the eighth. There were hundreds of thousands of people who knew it was a bad matchup, but apparently none of them was in the Cardinals' dugout last night.
And, if the game had gone to the 10th inning, the only position player the Cardinals had left was the backup catcher, and of course someone else in the lineup would have had to have been stricken with a heart attack before Matheny put him in the game.

One of the byproducts of my MIL's combination of lack of confidence and lack of intelligence that is she takes anything anyone else tells her or anything she reads as the absolute truth. If she reads a favorable review of a restaurant, she'll tell people the restaurant is good even though she's never eaten there. If someone tells her so-and-so is a good roofer, she'll tell recommend said roofer even though she's never used him, or even met him for that matter.

Re: 4/3 my new roof is leaking...errr

Roofing can be a nightmare.  We problems with a leak over the foyer entrance not too long after we moved in to the house where we lived for 21 years and went through about 4 roofers before the problem went away.  I believe it was the second guy who told us for the first time that a predecessor had scrwed up the flashing and I believe that was someone before we ever bought the house but the first guy we hired had just failed to correct it.  We have been renting the house (at a loss) since 2003 and haven't had a problem since long before.  I'm now starting to worry, thanks to this thread.

Not too long after we moved into this house, one of my few wealthy friends had a serious problem with their house and got estimates of 82,000 and 90,000.  They eventually found a guy from Mississippi who did a flawless job for about $15,000.  A couple of years later, the same guy did ours for considerably less (and considerably less than other estimates we had gotten).  This guy was wonderful.  He told my friends "I learned a long time ago that if you do a good job and charge a fair price, you'll never be out of work."  I also learned that he had fired his son for trying to screw their customers with unwarranted repairs.
He was really an interesting, unassuming guy who had been a sniper in Vietnam, something I never discussed with him.  Unfortunately, for us anyway, one of the major roofing companies hired him to be some sort of roving inspector throughout the Southeast and I haven't talked to him in years.  I'm really dreading the next time we have to have roofing work done.

Re: 4/3 my new roof is leaking...errr

Last spring, we set out on a plan to expand the finished part of our basement.  Before we could finalize the plans, I needed to determine whether I could make the walk-out waterproof (it was not prior to this project).  Between adding silicon to every crack, new weather stripping to the doors and door sweeps to the bottom, we thought we had it made.  We did the project and expanded the finished part of the basement.

Then, in one of last month's big storms I found a small puddle, about the size of a half dollar in front of one of the doors.  Turns out the rain on the outside had seeped in through the door window and ran down the door on the inside.  I'm happy to report that with some additional silicone around the outside part of the windows we have been completely waterproof despite some pretty major storms the past 2 weeks.

If there's any way in, it's pretty much a given water will find it.

I will personally drive to you and clean your chimney any day of the week for 10,000 dollars.  800 is a bit of a rip off.  I clean my own.  A sweep and rods prob didnt cost 100 bucks.  For 10 grands id clean ur chimney, clean your gutters, wash your dog and fuck your MIL.

Thats going to be my strategy.  Same one i have in the bedroom.  Use all the caulk i got.  It may not get the job done but i can always try again.

"I believe it was the second guy who told us for the first time that a predecessor had scrwed up the flashing"

Part of the problem I have with contractors is they spend so much time bad-mouthing each other. We had our house painted last fall and one of the guys we brought in for a quote spent almost the entire time criticizing one of the other painters in town. Just paint my friggin' house.

Just don't get the last two tasks confused.
Before I changed jobs last year, I would have told you 90 percent of the friction in my marriage was attributable to my MIL and the other 10 percent was attributable to finances. Now 99 percent of it is attributable to my MIL. The latest controversy is about her showing up to our house when no one is home. For whatever reason, she buys paper products for us at the supermarket and drops them off at our house once a week. I told my wife to tell her I don't want her in my house when no one is home. She ignored her. Then I told her myself I don't want her in my house when no one is home. She ignored me. My next move is to ask her for a key to her condo so I can show up and let myself in whenever I want. If that doesn't work, I'm going to start walking around my house with no clothes on, so if she shows up when I am home, she's going to get an eyeful. If that still doesn't work, I'm going to call the cops to report a breaking-and-entering and have her arrested.

Helitech is actually a firm client.  Their commercials are probably the least annoying thing about the company.

I know it's Cardinals season when I start seeing commercials for Helitech, Bommarito Ford and Sapaugh.
Zach and I were watching the Blues' game a couple of nights ago and he saw the Schnucks logo on the boards and laughed out loud. As I'm sure you're aware, that word in Yiddish has nothing to do with a supermarket.

They're pretty much interchangeable, but I always thought one is more apt to use "schnuck" in polite company.
If you're around family, you can say things like: "My zaide is a schmuck. He makes his own horse radish for the gefilte fish at Passover, even though you can buy a jar of it at any Schnucks.
