Didn't Horton just get finished saying how much better the outfield defense is going to be this year?

Fowler giveth and Fowler taketh away.
My personal opinion : he is a Minor league ball player , playing in the major leagues .
Never been impressed ...

They're now only a right fielder, two corner infielders and two starting pitchers away from being mediocre.

There was a point early in his career with the Rockies when he ran a lot, but I guess once you've been around long enough, you can just jog whenever you want.
The clowning around with Rizzo at first base last year bothered me a lot. Then I read the report at the end of last year that indicated he was the last one to arrive to the clubhouse and the first one to leave. That bothered me more. I don't begrudge these guys the salaries they make, but for seven figures to play baseball, I'd act like I cared, not like I was showing up to bus tables at Denny's on a Sunday morning.

Couldn’t agree more. The Cardinals need to do what the Cubs did (and are doing) with Heyward and just stop playing him (or limit his playing time). Bring up O’Neal, Bader or Garcia (I realize Bader is up, but I’m talking on a more permanent basis) and play him instead of Fowler. You’re stuck paying him, but you don’t have to play him. They aren’t going to go sign someone for $20M to replace him, but a rookie only costs $500K, and if it improves the lineup, it’s miney well spent. Make Fowler the 4th outfielder.

It's probably one of the reasons DeWitt is a very rich man, but he seems to resent every wasted nickel.

Counsell making all the right moves through 8....

Edmonds just said the Cardinals need to score a run in the ninth. It's incredible ones of the networks hasn't picked him up yet.

I thought his first year the game seemed to move too fast for him, but he's become a good manager. He's no Joe Maddon, but who is? Joe Maddon is the one who said "Hey, why don't we put the bases 90 feet apart?" after all.

Brilliant decision to intentionally walk the bases loaded when your pitcher can’t throw a strike.
