Cards are done playing the exhibition reds and play an actual major leave team.

It's snowing in Pittsburgh.

My Comcast app says the pitching matchup is Chatwood vs. Waino, but I thought I read they were skipping Waino so Weaver could pitch tomorrow.

I think that's the snow we're supposed to get on Thursday. The third week of April is spring break for public schools here. It's usually the week the leaves start appearing on the trees. This year there are no buds on the trees, no flowers, no grass. It's like it's still late February.

There have been worse ideas.

The first games I ever played in college were a doubleheader at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, which is located on the Cape Cod Canal. My school was in the upper northwest corner of Massachusetts, about five miles from the New York line and two miles from the Vermont line. It's about as far as you can travel within Massachusetts and still be in Massachusetts.
The day we played in late March, it was about 30 degrees and the wind was coming in off the water, which was literally 30 feet from the backstop.
I didn't pitch in either game. So my day consisted of sitting in a van for four hours on the trip there, sitting on a bench for six hours, and then sitting in a van for four hours on the trip home. If I didn't have to piss, I wouldn't have burned a single calorie.

Waino seems so slow working

Looks like it may be a good night to give Holland a little more work.

He's toast, and Matheny is going to send him out for the 5th against 3-4-5 so he can qualify for a win.

Well duh. Waino has earned the right to pitch the 5th.

Hey, at least they got to his spot in the order so Methany didn't consider sending him out for the 6th.

Got through the Longball Leone inning unscathed ...

Did Edmonds just call a 425-foot home run on a 30-degree night with the wind blowing in "a good piece of hitting?"

Three batters later and the tying run is at the plate.

Haven’t you heard? It’s still like spring training for Holland.

Good time to work out some kinks.

There's a 3-second gap between the audio and the video on my feed.
I heard Happ connect, I heard the crowd roar, and then I heard Dan say "Fly ball to center ..." and nearly threw up in my mouth.

What could possibly go wrong here?

Geezus. That was easy.

Yeah, we had the same issue here.
I made fun of the signing, but Norris is the closer for the indefinite future if I’m in charge. That was a helluva save tonight, and he’s striking out almost 2 per inning.
