Bader seems to be the type of player that is going to do something productive everyday.
And a great example of how the game ought to be played.

That wasn't exactly an irrational thought considering that the Reds had the bases loaded on a rookie pitcher who completely bi-passed AAA and AA. And had a home plate ump who wasn't going to give him a strike on anything that had 20 or more out of the zone.
Incidentally, does anyone know how much Matheny defers to his pitching coaches on who and when? I always got the impression that the previous coach made a lot of those decisions.

Matheny doesn’t defer to his pitching coach at all. He makes all of the decisions and that’s part of the problem because he has no idea what he’s doing.

Thanks.
That's disappointing. I'm surprised that a guy like Maddux If he was aware of that situation. But I know what it's like to need a job.
BTW. I meant to write 20%. I wonder if anyone hates to read their own writing as much as I do.

Interesting article on post dispatch about mathenys lineup changes. The article sited carp and molinas favorable stats vs Bailey as possible reasons. To be honest that would be a good trend if continued. However, with the usage of lyons in the very same game it is proven it will not be a sweeping change.
I can now read the post dispatch without be prompted to subscribe. It must have been some sort of selective push they had going. When i was being blocked for subscription i could simply search the article title on Google, and view it from there. Also noticed other IP addresses did not prompt me to subscribe. Im assuming they had my IP address pinned as one they could con into subscribing. I do visit the site daily but rarely read many of the articles. So in reality they were minimizing the amount of their paid advertisors i was intaking.

I usually get a series of questions like what search engines I usually use or which apps I have on my phone. I usually try to give them an answer that will get me to the article the fastest. I've never been asked to subscribe.
One of Matheny's vast array of problems is what I wrote earlier in this thread - he just doesn't realize when a pitcher doesn't have it. Lyons' wasn't locating his fastball and his slider/curve was rolling up there, but. hey, Winker is a lefthanded hitter, and he's thinking he has to have a lefthanded pitcher to pitch to him.
