Martinez to the DL

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but with the Cardinals' track record of reporting injuries, should we just assume "sore lat" equals "torn labrum"?

Re: Martinez to the DL

The party line last night was he's only going to miss one start. Nothing to see here.

Re: Martinez to the DL

Anyone know what the skinny is on Dakota Hudson?

He would have been scheduled to pitch last night but instead he was put on the "temporary inactive" list, which I don't think I ever heard of, and Flaherty got the start.  He's still on the list today and I can't find anything on the web about why.

Incidentally, Flaherty was sharp.

Follow up:  According to Brian Walton:

"The TI list is an excused leave of absence of at least three days duration. The reason can arise from one of a number of personal situations including paternity, bereavement or a family medical emergency."

Also, according to Walton, Tuesday should have been Hudson's turn.  That was the game started by Sean Gilmartin.

Correction:  Flaherty's game was Wed. night.  Gomber started last night and had a rough outing.
