I was feeling pretty good about it until they had to go and mention that the last Cardinal to homer in 3 straight games was Grichuk.

That was absolutely my reaction!!.  I thought, damn I wish he hadn't told us that.

BTW, looks like you and Mike are on the same page.  He apparently sees no problem in moving the rookie around the outfield.  And it looks like yoiu guys were right.

He shouldn’t have to move tomorrow. Fowler stays on the bench

It gets worse. I just picked him up for my last place rotisserie team, the name of which I'm going to change to "Disabled List."
The poor young man is going to lose an eyeball by the weekend.

Re: 5/21 GC

Oneill buys himself a couple more starts with this one.  Cards need to do with folwer what the cubs did with Heyward.  Make him a really expensive 4th outfielder.  Not sure what to do with bader.  Worried he will not get at bats.  Might need to ride the bus back down south.

For all the bitching i do ive got to give the fo some credit.

1. Ditching grichuk, he us sucking bad

2.  Classy and needed move of trading piscoty

3.  Marco for oniell is a steal even if oniell fails.  They gave up nothing

4.  Lizard king has been a hell of a find

Side note: carp is hitting

Re: 5/21 GC

The biggest thing you have to watch with Fowler is whether he becomes a distraction. I remember last year there was talk he was the last to arrive, first to leave. If he becomes a distraction they need to fix it fast.

Bottom line, it costs them nothing more if Fowler starts and O’Neill is on the bench than it does if O’Neill starts and Fowler sits. But they have to play the better player, and if that’s O’Neill and if Fowler can’t handle that, they need to approach him about waiving his no-trade, eat a large part of the remaining money and get him out.

Re: 5/21 GC

The last sentence should be the plan even if he starts hitting.  They just dont need him.  It is probably painful for the front office to eat the money and also get nothing in return but it is what is best for the team.  Imo even if he hits his career average the combination of oneill and bader is still a more wise play.

Is that a reference to the shot FSMW showed in the ninth inning of the guy in the crowd wearing an Aaron Miles shirt? Can't believe the Cardinals sold those, and it's beyond further belief that someone actually bought one. Because, you know, they were only available in two sizes - extra small and lawn gnome.

TSN's take on the acquisition of Grichuk:
You win some, you lose some. While no one is closing the book on the Randal Grichuk era in Toronto, the off-season trade acquisition stumbled to a .106/.208/.227 slash line out of the gates, giving Teoscar Hernandez a chance to steal his job. Like Morales, Grichuk’s batted ball profile suggests he’ll have better days, but hitting the ball hard isn’t worth a whole lot when you’re swinging through most of the pitches you don’t make contact with. There still may be a role for him in a platoon situation, especially with Steve Pearce’s iffy track record of health.
