No idea why I'm watching. Maybe to see how Daniel Descalso is doing.

I thought he was still in St. Louis, pitching to the Braves in the top of the fifth.

As they speak about Voit, he’s 3 for 3 tonight.

I say Holland is overdue.

It's OK, Mike. The umpire just cost your team a run with a lousy call. No need to get upset or offend anyone.

3-2 pitch to Ahmed was right down the middle at knees and the umpire called it a ball, and he scored later in the inning.

The Cardinals will tell everyone they signed the next great Latin American player that no one else was willing to pay more than $300K to sign.

That was my reaction. And apparently he’s been available for quite some time, going by his age.
How the hell do they get these numb-nuts to write these headlines for them?

This reads like Mozeliak wrote it.

On the first day of the 2018-19 international signing period, the Cardinals are finalizing an agreement with 17-year-old third baseman Malcolm Nunez, a one-time star of Cuba's young national team. After overspending during the 2016-17 signing period, the Cardinals are unable to offer a single player more than $300,000. It's expected that Nunez will command that much (update: he did, a source confirms).Sources described an agreement and it could be announced Monday, the first day that teams can finalize contracts with eligible players. The Cardinals usually confirm deals en masse. Nunez ranked 26th in his class, according to Baseball America.A strapping righthanded hitter, Nunez stood out above others in his age group because of a 6-foot-1 frame and a weight between 190 pounds and 200 pounds. In Cuba's 15-and-under league, Nunez had an absurd 46 walks and only nine strikeouts in 152 plate appearances. It his power that the Cardinals and other teams expect to carry him, and many of those walks were simply avoidance of that power by other teams.

There are a few more paragraphs that cite his U15 statistics, his slugging percentage on his 5th grade all-star team and his T-ball OPS, but I found none of that particularly illustrative.

Looks like the cards gave up international money to the phillies for a shitty 23 year old pitcher.

As for Garcia, he has at times been viewed as a prospect of some note, even getting some organizational top-ten billing entering the 2017 campaign. But he sat out eighty games last year after testing positive for banned PED boldenone.Since returning, the 23-year-old has not been quite as impressive. He did not thrive in the Arizona Fall League and has struggled this season in a repeat of the Double-A level. Through 42 1/3 innings in 2018, Garcia carries a 6.38 ERA with just 6.2 K/9 and 4.5 BB/9.
