Luck Staying in School

Andrew Luck is going to stay at Stanford and screw every mock draft up.

If I'm Carolina, that pick is up for sale.

Last mock draft I saw had the Vikings picking up Ryan Mallatt  12th.  Is he any good.

Re: Luck Staying in School

As I think the Rams have learned the last few years, it's pretty hard to trade out of the top picks because of the guaranteed money that is paid to those players.  I know the Jets traded up to #4 to get Sanchez a couple years back, but other than that, I don't remember many recent trades involving top picks.  Unless you count Eli for Rivers.

Mallett is a big-bodied (I think he's 6'7), big armed QB.  Started his college career at Michigan, had some issues with the coaches and ended up at Arkansas.

Both Kiper and McShay now have Gabbert as the #1 rated QB in the draft.

I am kind of hoping the Vikings roll the dice and sign Vince Young.

Seriously????

I would think after the Favre saga, you'd have had enough of head case QBs.

I always thought Young was getting a raw deal in TN.  How can you lose playing time to a guy named Kerry.  In the last 2 years his TD/INT ration is 20-10.  I hate to see the Vikings take the lumps of developing a young QB with Peterson in the backfield.  If you get a guy in there that can just play within himself the Vikings are a playoff team.  Donovan McNabb wouldnt upset me either.  I just want a guy who can hand the ball of 25 times a game, run alittle himself and make the throws a QB should make.

I'm with Fors on this one. Young had a good statistical season, but there is something missing upstairs.

Re: Luck Staying in School

I'm actually hoping the Dolphins pick VY up. He is a massive upgrade to Henne, regardless of his attitude.

Mostly I'm just hopeful they get rid of Henne.

I'd say after all this crap making Sparano twist in the wind, offering Harbaugh $8 million and not interviewing a minority candidate, the Dolphins need new leadership before getting a new QB.

I not sure "attitude" is the word I'd use in reference to Young.

At various points during his time in Tennessee Young went missing, nearly committed suicide and then had a spectacular blow up during which he threw his pads into the crowd and went nuts on the coach.

I don't think it's nearly as much of an "attitude" as I think he has some serious psychological issues.

Sounds like he would be a perfect fit on the vikings.

I understand all of this =) And he's still a major upgrade over Henne.

Edit. They are saying now there was no offer to Harbaugh. They went out there to discuss interest and whatnot, and then Ross came back. He didn't interview a minority because he didn't have an offer ready for Jimmy. I have no idea how true this is, but that's the story.

BREAKING NEWS!
The Harbaugh talks broke down when Jeff Ireland called in over speaker phone and wanted to know if Harbaugh's mom was a whore, then replied with "well fuck that noise then, I need some ass" when JH replied with a negative.
