Whiskey Dan is a golfer, right?  That was the worst job of integration a promotional event with coverage of a sporting event that I've ever heard.  WD is the most shameless suck-up in the history of Western Civilization.

I'm putting it on the Animal Planet and doing some paper work.  The dogs were barfing all over the den when they had to listen to that fat bastard trying to get in on the golf freebies.

Re: 8/1 GC

Right now, Weaver isn’t one of the top 5 starters on this team.

Again, they won’t do it because it will look like they’re giving up, but it the Cardinals were smart, they’d go to a 6-man rotation of Mikolas, Flaherty, Gant, Poncedeleon, Gomber and Hudson. It would save innings on a bunch of young arms, and it would give them a chance to look at some arms who might be an important part of the 2019 season.

LMAO.
I switched to the Rockies broadcast because he just got too obsequious. The Rockies guys were talking about last night's Mets/Gnats game. The color commentator said "That's a really bad loss."

Looks like they finally found a hitter who can get a run in from third with less than 2 outs.

Cardinals broadcast spun it that BFIB know the game....i think it was more of a sarcastic applause.

Either that or most of the women in the crowd (and many of the men) looked up between cell phone calls and noticed that the Cards had scored.

Re: 8/1 GC

Oh look, another run scored off of athleticism, base running and situational hitting.

Re: 8/1 GC

O’Neill violated the 8th Commandment of Methanaging.

This is actually somewhat entertaining.

Re: 8/1 GC

With a stolen base and starting the runners on a 2-2 count, this inning is already more entertaining and 2016 thru July 2018

Re: 8/1 GC

I never got a chance to see Mercado play.  His skill set sounds exciting.  After watching bader and oniell i wonder what it would of been like to subtract fouler and have those 3 in the mix.

Re: 8/1 GC

Friend of mine made an interesting Fowler comment over lunch. The Cardinals (and St. Louis) have had some bad press in terms of handling black players. There’s been suggestion that Fowler felt like Matheny didn’t give him a fair shake. Is it possible that Schildt has instructions to play Fowler so that no one can claim that Fowler didn’t get the same opportunity as Carpenter because he’s black.

I really hope that’s not the case, but you never know.

I guess im stupid, so maybe someone can help me out.  Baseball is racist against black players.  Stl is racist against black players.  I assume racism is still defined by the color of a persons skin?  Seems there is several regular players on the cardinals whos skin tone isnt exactly white.

I really don't think so.  My guess is that it is a last ditch effort to keep Mo from looking like such a fuck up and, in the best of all worlds, making Fowler marketable.  He has no where to go but up.  Besides, I'll bet he and Molina are great buddies and Schildt knows how important that is.

Re: 8/1 GC

Mags,

Serious question: what is your beef with Molina?  The guy is one of only 2 Hall of Fame caliber players the team has had in the last 20 years. He continues to make himself a better player despite having signed his big money contract(s), and, despite taking an absolutely beating behind home plate, he wants to play every day rather than sit (sometimes to the team's detriment, but that's on the coach who makes out the lineup, not the player who wants to compete).  He's one of the few, if not the only, player on the team who understands to shorten up with two strikes and/or hit a ball to the right side to advance a runner.  He's never struck out more than 75 times in a season. His presence behind home plate makes the pitchers better and his defense, though diminished a bit as he's gotten older, is still better than most.

What exactly bothers you about him?
