It’s also fair to wonder what might have been if he hadn’t been forced to pitch yesterday because the home plate umpire was an idiot

They were one hitter to late on pulling him.  He was scared to throw a strike and just kept nibbling off the outside. To hudsons credit he came in firing.


Got to say...this team is fun to watch right now.  Best baseball ive seen in years.

Id love for him to be a cardinal.  The Cardinals are playing with a chip on their shoulder now but thats what i like about Harper.  He adds that type of dickhead i think stl needs.

Totally agree the team is playing with an attitude. I know there are a few new guys, but mostly it’s the same people. Don't you have to assume Matheny was suppressing that?  Man I'm glad he's gone.

Parts of who matheny is or who i think he is i really really respect.  He comes off to me as a hard worker.  Someone who humbly goes about his job.  I love that in people.  He seems hard to excit and anger.  All those things i see as a positive traits.

I also think he tried to mold the whole team into that type of person.  That just comes off as stiff.  And thats how the team played.  More and more stiff. 

There is to many variables and personalitiesfor that type of management to work.  Not that everyone fits into a single category but when there is work to be done you need hard workers to lead.  When the team needs fired up you need some guys with energy.
When it is time to celebrate you need guys that have fun .  And when there is a little on the field strife you need someone who will go to battle.  I deffinatly think shildt is letting everyone be themselves more.  Less Christian coalition bs.
