Sheryl spoke to the couple who lives on our street. They were at the Fenway show. They watched from the sound tent and said they could hear every note from Journey. It must have been where we were sitting (behind home plate). But it's strange we heard Cheap Trick and Def Leppard just fine and Journey sounded like they were underwater. It wasn't just us. There were other people around us complaining about the sound.
 

We stayed for the whole concert, and Journey sounded fine—when the sound system worked. A little more than halfway through their set the sound system started to malfunction. It would either go out completely for a brief moment or as long as a couple of seconds, or you’d get an awful feedback sound for a moment to a couple of seconds. It was terribly annoying.

Fortunately, whoever was working the system rallied and got it fixed. I’m not sure whether the original plan didn’t include an encore or if they were improvising, but they finished with Faithfully and Don’t Stop Believing (without any glitches in the sound) and called it a night.

One of the nice advantages to our office location, and the new bar in our office is that after an event like that, we walked over to our office, had another drink and let traffic dissipate before we left ourselves. With the new phase of BPV fully underway, traffic around the stadium is a bitch. By waiting an hour, we completely avoided it.

All and all it was a fun night.
