Geez, it's almost like Ozuna is in a contract year.

I'm surprised Goldschmidt didn't lap him.

Yup. Time to trade for another washed-up reliever.

According to Gameday, Hicks threw five pitches to Yelich - a fasstball, two changeups and two sliders.
I understand Hicks wants to be thought of as a pitcher instead of a circus act, but to quote the great Lou Brown: "Forget about the curveball, Ricky. Give 'em the heater."

I understand Braden Looper is available.

What's frustrating is that his velocity is there and his slider still has tons of movement. But right now he has no idea where it's going.
You were a pitcher, is that a mechanical issue? Confidence? Little bit of both?

Speaking, however, of washed-up relievers, Luke Gregerson's rehab assignment is nearing an end. I have no idea about his stuff, but his stats are good. 9 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 9 K and 0 BB

Yeah he is hitting well. A lot of things look good right now. Maybe this team doesnt suck. Nope it is to early to ditch the pessimistic the world is coming to an end view point.

And Martínez is coming back as a reliever. Going to get crowded.

Idk, he has had a lot of issues missing bats when he was throwing straight heat. Yelich was clearly off balance when he struck out on a check swing, at a unhittable ball.

It's usually something mechanical brought on by a change to the pitcher's delivery due to discomfort or injury. Miller has spent most of his career in the American League, so I don't know if he's doing anything different, but I remember watching him with the Indians a few years ago and he was able to put that slider just about anywhere he wanted. He obviously isn't doing that now. He may be trying to pitch through something, I don't know.

Of course he needs to be able to throw more than one pitch, but the time to break out that new changeup isn't when Yelich is at the plate representing the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth.

Im not sure the purpose of the last 2 pitches. I assume to set up the fastball. They were both in the dirt and yelich was to anxious for the second change in a row. Both pitches were in the dirt. The first change in the dirt was after a mound visit. Id assume the plan was to bounce one.
Idk if they were even change ups honestly. They were in the 90s.
