The knuckleheads on the MLBTV panel were crowing about how he will be the fastest in the draft class to the majors. Two picks later, the Braves picked a left-handed hitting shortstop from Texas A&M. The first highlight on the Texas A&M player's highlight reel was of him hitting a massive homer off Thompson.

It is hard for me to get amped up about the draft. There are so many players. I know very little of them. The way their game translates to professional baseball is always a wild card. Until a name has been in the minors for a couple years i cant get excited about it.

MLB has tried to turn it into the NFL draft, but it just doesn't have the same appeal because even the best players are at least a year or two away from making the majors.
At least they stopped making the kids show up to the studio. It was embarrassing hearing a player's name get picked to the response of a dozen people or so clapping their hands.

The Cardinals 33rd round pick, Anthony Green was a WR on Bob’s high school team during Bob’s freshman and sophomore seasons.
