9/8 GC

This guy is walking the ballpark and Goldschmidt flails at three pitches out of the strike zone. Incredible.

No kidding.  Twins did a good job of losing this game.

After Carpenter's single, did the Cardinals hit the ball out of the infield in that inning?

Yep. And ownership is perfectly fine with that provided it continues to sell 3 million tickets in seasons without a pandemic.

Wieders did have a 19 pitch at bat to end the inning.  He flied to center.  It was actaully entertaining.  But to answer your question, idk.  They walked in some runs.  Brad Thompson lalbed it was a different way then slugging to produce runs.  He may be onto something.  Maybe the best thing for this team to do is not swing.

Frusterating that when it comes to hitting, other teams seem to get so much more out of ex cardinals players.

Funny you would mention that. Tampa recently activated Arozarena. He’s 8 for 20 with 4 HR since being activated.

I watched the Bruins' ownership do this for three decades. They were happy with assembling a team that was good enough to make the playoffs but not good enough to win a Stanley Cup. It wasn't until they hit rock bottom about 15 years ago and they noticed empty seats. And the seats that tended to be occupied were filled by fans wearing Montreal and Toronto replica sweaters that they finally did something about it.

Who has done worst since leaving?

Jose Martinez was pretty bad in Tampa, got traded to the Cubs and is 0 for 14 so far for the Cubs.

Cant lose them all I guess

Re: 9/8 GC

Shelby Miller has been awful since he left St. Louis. In six years, he's won 12 games; four less than Dakota Hudson won last year. And didn't the Cardinals take Hudson with the compensatory pick they got for the Cubs signing Fuck Heyward?
Luke Weaver is 1-6 with a 7.12 ERA. Because Luke Weaver sucks.
Carson Kelly is hitting .190 with a four extra base hits in 84 plate appearances.
Mike Mayers has become something of the Angels' Every Day Eddie Guardado and is posting the best numbers of his career.
Chasen Shrieve has become an effective bridge/middle relief guy for the Mets - 1.93 ERA and a 0.804 WHIP in 10 appearances.
Longball Leone has a 6.23 ERA in 11 appearances for Cleveland. He's lived up to his epithet twice. He's also walked four in 8 2/3 innings. Nothing to see here ...
Luke Gregerson's major league baseball career appears to have ended.
Tommy Pham is batting .207 with two home runs among three extra base hits in 95 PAs with the Padres. He still insists he's the best player in the league, however.
Greg Garcia is batting .256 with a .673 OPS in 51 PAs with those very same Padres.
The Cubs signed Patrick Wisdom last month, but he has yet to appear on their major league roster. He was released by the Rangers after batting .154 in nine games last year.
Wacha is 1-3 with a 7.50 ERA and hasn't thrown a pitch beyond the fifth inning all year.
Jedd Gyorko continues to be Jedd Gyorko. Five of his 15 hits are home runs but he's only driven in 10 runs.
Yairo Munoz got playing time when the Red Sox off-loaded Kevin Pillar. He hit well for a half-dozen games, but then he hurt his hip. He's expected back maybe as early as today.
Adolis Garcia has struck out four times in six at bats with the Rangers.
Matt Adams is hitting .184 with two homers and nine RBI as Freddie Freeman's valet. He has two walks in 51 PAs.
Matt Bowman pitched fairly effectively (3.66 ERA; 1.250 WHIP in 27 games) for the Reds last season, but injured his elbow and has not pitched yet this season. No word on whether he still plans to sue Mike Matheny for cruel and unusual punishment for pitching him in all 162 games in 2017.
Greg Holland has a 2.72 ERA with two saves in 22 appearances for the Royals, mostly as a set up guy until Trevor Rosenthal got dealt. Rosenthal has given up two hits in three scoreless innings with one save since joining the Padres. He had seven saves in 14 appearances with the Royals.
Tyler Lyons was released by the Yankees after last season, re-signed in July and added to their 60-man player pool. He is at their alternate training site in Wilkes-Barre.
Sam Tuivailala was released by the Mariners in March due to a shoulder injury. Whereabouts currently unknown. The Cardinals got Seth Elledge in the trade with the Mariners.
Marco Gonzales is 5-2 with a 3.03 ERA as the ace of the Mariners' staff. His record with Seattle is 35-25. But Tyler O'Neill can bench press more than Gonzales.
Stephen Piscotty is hitting .264/5/28 in 121 ABs in Oakland. The trade wasn't a total blowout for the A's, since Max Schrock finally made it to the major leagues.
Aledmys Diaz is batting .194 as a utility player in Houston.
Randal Grichuk has nine homers and 26 RBI in 166 PAs as Toronto's every day centerfielder. He also has 37 strikeouts, all on sliders in the dirt.
Lance Lynn is 5-2 with a 2.52 ERA in 10 starts for the Rangers, and continues to be a model of durability. He was 16-11 for them last year and finished fifth in the AL Cy Young Award balloting. He has grown back his beard since leaving the Yankees.
Seungwhan Oh is back in Korea. He signed with the Samsung Lions but was apparently suspended for 30 games due to some sort of "disciplinary action," maybe for using one of those American iPhones?
Jhonny Peralta has not played in a major league baseball game since he was released by the Cardinals in 2017. Whereabouts unknown.
Bud Norris was signed to a minor league deal by the Phillies but released in July. He is now pitching for the Sugar Land Lightning Sloths in the Constellation Energy Independence League, where he continues his legacy of hazing younger players and pulling the wings off any unfortunate houseflies that should meander into the bullpen.
