A guy in his early 20s who is already having back problems is a concern, and they need to decide on a defensive position and keep him there, but there's every indication thus far he can rake.

Yes, unless Miller has made everyone unaware so far that he's the second coming of Babe Ruth.

I remember last year the Cardinals cut guys from ST and then brough most back for games. I am not sure what getting cut from major league camp means.

Not much in Tony's World, where the shuttle from Memphis to St. Louis is a daily event.

Reading it, it sounds like they have to be optioned back to the minor league team if they are on the 40 man roster, and while i don't understand the details of how that works, i think there is a limited number of times that a player can be optioned back and forth.

and you expect ME to be able to understand it???
perhaps you have not been reading the thread on never having learned a limit on wine. The footnotes to that thread should read that in SE Asia, wine (and cheese, fwiw) is insanely expensive and beer is pretty cheap. so, returning to the land of $4 bottles of wine was like like a kid in a candy store.

"Options" as a quantity is a misnomer. The threshold is accrued service time in the majors. You can go up and down until you get your service time, then you have to be DFA'd in order to be sent back to the minors. Unless, of course, the player is willing to go on a rehab assignment.

Or if the player signes a minor league contract like Ian Snell did. Or if accepts relocation to the minors.
