    The only ball the Dodgers hit hard was the last one. Big to get out of that inning with only one run.

    I'll say it--I still think Berkman finds his way to the DL before the season ends, but he's still got baseball left in him. That was a nice defensive play he just made.

    Saved a run. Jaime is dancing on glass here. I think. I'm having a root canal tomorrow and I took a Vicodin about a half hour ago, so it looks like I'm watching a doubleheader.
    Bud Norris was nails against the Padres tonight. He must have seen Ludwick and thought he was facing the Cardinals.

    He's battling. It helps that the Dodgers aren't throwing out a great lineup tonight. Carroll instead of Furcal is a big downgrade.

    i'm looking for that sweet curve, but he hasn't even thrown it, and the stuff he's throwin' has no movement.  this could be really brutal if the dodgers see another inning or two of these pitches.

    That wasn't the curve I've been looking for, but it worked.

    Last season his bread and butter was a curve that broke away from right-handed hitters, and sometimes even seemed to rise a bit.  Thrown on the outside corner it was devastating for righties.

    That he only gave up two earned runs in five innings with the command of nothing but a 4-seam fastball is a pretty good deal.
